I’m the little one with braids

Randoms, whatnots, and bits of ephemera from my active brain. I don’t know what to tell you, but it will probably involve Sriracha sauce at some point.

I Tweet occasionally, and I have a Facebook page where I post here and there with book updates, etc. (I try not to post excessively, though.)

Besides blogging, I write fiction, mainly young adult and middle grade. In 2013, as I was recovering from my bilateral mastectomy, then reconstruction, I decided to write about my experiences¬† in The Cancer Diaries on my Blog of Randomness. While a diagnosis of cancer is a horrible, awful thing, I realized that finding humor in given situations helped me immensely. Just to be able to laugh in the midst of such emotional, life-changing events was a way to bring some sort of normalcy and relief to a sucky, sucky situation. Also, the more I wrote and talked openly about my experiences, it seemed to lessen the power that the disease had over me. (It helps, it really does.) I then wrote Let Me Get This Off My Chest: A Breast Cancer Survivor Over-Shares. Since its release in 2013, I’ve heard from many women who then share their experiences with me. We, each of us, has our own story to tell. One thing I am sure of is that we are stronger than we think we are.

Here is a link to have a look at my books, fiction as well as my memoirs.

Feel free to drop me a line. We’ll sit and have a virtual cup of coffee.
